NS Familiarisation Visit 2017

The Overseas Singaporean Unit is organising the NS Familiarisation Visit 2017 for Overseas Singaporeans (OS) to particiapte in Singapore. Fall in for a special visit to Pulau Tekong on 5 August, for a glimpse of NS life at the NS Familiarisation Visit 2017. Open to overseas Singaporean males aged 15 – 18 and their parents, this one-day tour will give you a first-hand experience of what to expect as an NSF. Camp@Home 2017 

The Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) is organising an upcoming initiative for Overseas Singaporeans (OS) to participate in Singapore. Enrol your kids on a journey of discovery to learn more about Singapore and our heritage at Camp@Home 2017. This three-day non-residential programme is specially designed for overseas Singaporean children aged 7 to 12 years old. Our campers will go on learning journeys through Singapore’s historical and ethnic districts and learn about nation’s rich history, heritage and multi-racial diversity. Online Survey by Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) Social Lab to study the social perceptions, attitudes and behaviours of Overseas Singaporeans. The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) Social Lab, with OSU’s support, is launching an online survey from 12 May to end-Sep. The State of the OS survey, led by principal investigator Dr Leong Chan-Hoong, aims to make sense of the diverse backgrounds and motivations of OS, their feelings towards and engagement with their host and home country, and their future plans for themselves and their children. A Talk by Mr Wong Kan Seng

The Overseas Singaporean Unit presented SINGAPORE SPEAKERS SERIES featuring MR WONG KAN SENG, The Chairman of ASCENDAS-SINGBRIDGE PTE LTD. Mr Wong shared his perspectives on the economic outlook of Singapore and the region, and Singapore’s trade and investment cooperation with other countries. He talked about how Singaporeans could seize the potential opportunities in an evolving economy shaped by technological advances and changing business models.

The event was followed by a sumptuous Dinner Buffet of Singaporean foods.

Reception for Singaporeans with DPM Teo Chee Hean

Consul-General Foo Teow Lee hosted a Reception for our fellow Singaporeans resident in Hong Kong on 19 April 2017 (Wednesday) to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Mr Teo Chee Hean.  As the Guest-of-Honour of the event, DPM Teo addressed the overseas Singaporeans community on the latest developments in the region.
